If it prices toward the Vision Pro tier, it forfeits the mainstream buyer that makes an installed base worth building for. Either way, the value of a larger audience accrues first to whoever owns the storefront β€” and Meta owns the storefront. Then there is reproducibility. Every claim in that leak is unfalsifiable until it ships. Weight, battery, chip, field of view, price β€” none of it exists outside a rumor. Code is law, but logic is fragile, and rumor is neither. The metaverse token trade died because it was a hardware story told in tokens. The agent trade is growing because it is a software story with a genuine software substrate. Watch the grams, the battery hours, and the price β€” because those three figures decide whether a mass-market MR installed base finally exists. Watch, more importantly, whether Meta opens its asset layer to portable standards. If it does not β€” and history says it will not β€” then a lighter headset is not a rising tide for the on-chain metaverse. It is a better-built wall. The question worth sitting with is not whether Project Phoenix redefines AR. It might. The question is whether, when the headset finally gets light enough to forget you are wearing it, anyone still remembers why they insisted the world had to live on-chain.
